How often does my child really need to see the pediatrician?
The AAP recommends well-child visits at 3, 4, and 5 years old (annually). These visits include growth monitoring, developmental screening, vision and hearing checks, vaccination updates, and behavioral assessments. Beyond scheduled visits, see your pediatrician for persistent fevers, ear pain, behavioral changes, or any concern that doesn't resolve in a few days. Many practices offer telehealth for minor questions. Don't skip well-child visits even if your child seems healthy — preventive care catches issues early.
