How can I childproof my home for a toddler?

Secure furniture to walls, cover outlets, install safety gates at stairs, lock cabinets with cleaning supplies and medicines, keep small objects (choking hazards) out of reach, use door handle covers on rooms they shouldn't enter, and never leave water unattended (bathtubs, buckets). Get on their level and look for hazards from their perspective.
