What are warning signs of depression in teenagers?
Watch for persistent sadness or irritability, withdrawal from friends and activities, changes in sleep or appetite, declining grades, loss of interest in things they used to enjoy, fatigue, comments about hopelessness or worthlessness, and self-harm. Teen depression can look more like anger than sadness. If you notice these signs lasting more than 2 weeks, seek professional help.
