🍼 Infant · 3–12 months 🌟 Gifted & Talented

What are early signs of giftedness in infants, and should I worry about advanced milestones?

Some infants show early signs such as intense alertness from birth, early language milestones (words before 12 months), long attention spans for their age, and strong memory for faces and routines. However, early milestones do not always predict giftedness, and late bloomers catch up. Avoid the temptation to drill or flash-card an infant — the best thing you can do is provide a rich sensory environment, talk and read to them constantly, and follow their curiosity. There is no benefit to formal testing before age 3–4. Focus on attachment and play rather than achievement. Discuss developmental observations with your pediatrician.
