What are simple mindfulness exercises I can do with my preschooler?
Try 'Belly Buddies' — lie down, place a small toy on their belly, and breathe to make it rise and fall while listening to calming music. 'Five Senses Safari' — pause during a walk and name one thing you can see, hear, smell, touch, and taste. 'Mindful eating' — slowly eat a raisin, describing the texture, taste, and sound. These build present-moment awareness through play, not discipline. Zero to Three recommends making mindfulness a joyful family practice. Discuss age-appropriate emotional skills with your pediatrician.
