How much sleep does a school-age child need?
Children ages 6–12 need 9–12 hours of sleep per night. Establish a consistent bedtime routine and wake time, even on weekends. Remove screens from the bedroom and stop screen use at least 1 hour before bed. Lack of sleep affects mood, behavior, learning, and physical health.
