Is it normal for my newborn to spit up after feeding?

Yes, mild spit-up is very common because the muscle between the stomach and esophagus is still maturing. Keep the baby upright for 20–30 minutes after feeding. Consult your pediatrician if spit-up is forceful, green/yellow, or the baby isn't gaining weight.
