How do I create a chore chart that my preschooler will actually follow?
Use pictures instead of words for pre-readers, keep the list short (3–4 tasks max), and place the chart at child eye-level. Sticker charts work well at this age — a sticker for each completed task with a small reward after a streak. Age-appropriate chores include making their bed (imperfectly), feeding a pet, clearing their plate, sorting laundry by color, and getting dressed independently. Build chores into the daily routine rather than treating them as optional. Discuss age-appropriate expectations with your pediatrician.
