How do I set boundaries with my child to protect my own energy?

Preschoolers are intensely demanding of attention, and it's healthy to say 'Mommy needs 10 minutes of quiet time' — this models self-care and teaches them that everyone has needs. Establish 'independent play time' daily, even just 15–20 minutes, where they play alone while you recharge nearby. You don't need to be an entertainer every waking moment. Let go of guilt — a rested, present parent for 80% of the day is better than a burned-out parent for 100%. Discuss parental well-being strategies with your pediatrician.
