How do I create a safe sleep environment for my newborn?

Follow the ABCs of safe sleep: Alone (no blankets, pillows, or toys in the crib), on their Back, and in a Crib with a firm, flat mattress. Room-sharing without bed-sharing is recommended for the first 6–12 months to reduce the risk of SIDS. Keep the room at a comfortable temperature and dress your baby in a sleep sack instead of loose blankets. Always consult your pediatrician with specific sleep safety questions.
