What can I do to support my newborn's brain development?

The most powerful thing you can do is talk, sing, and respond to your newborn. Narrate your day: 'Now we're changing your diaper. Can you feel the warm water?' Respond to coos and babbles as if having a conversation — this 'serve and return' interaction builds neural connections faster than any toy or app. Skin-to-skin contact, reading aloud, and providing a safe environment for exploration are far more important than educational products. Newborns are wired to learn from human interaction above all else. Discuss developmental enrichment with your pediatrician.
