When should kids start using deodorant?

Body odor typically begins with the onset of puberty, which can start as early as age 8 in some children. If your child is developing body odor, it's perfectly fine to introduce a mild, aluminum-free deodorant. Frame it positively as a normal part of growing up, not as something embarrassing. Teach daily habits: shower or bath, clean clothes, and deodorant as part of their routine. Consult your pediatrician about early puberty signs if they appear before age 8.
